How to Load the 3M ATG Gun

Are you having difficulties loading your ATG Gun? The 3M Adhesive Transfer Gun is a great tool for stampers, scrapbookers, and mixed media artists. It can be a little tricky to get the hang of loading it. In order to help you out, we have designed this photo tutorial to help you out!

Loading ATG - step 1

1. Open the clear cover and remove the black stop from the back reel section.

2. The adhesive roll goes on the front reel with the tape unrolling from the bottom.

3. Make sure that the little black clip is solidly over the roll. This is part of the tension and holds the adhesive roll on the reel.

4. The tape goes over the first roller guide (the one closest to the adhesive roll). At this point, the plaid liner will be in contact with the roller guide, and the adhesive side will be exposed.

5. The tape will now go under the second roller guide. This means the adhesive side will be in contact with the roller and the plaid liner is exposed.

6. While holding the trigger down with your right hand, pull the tape leader around to the back reel. At this point, the adhesive side will be in contact with the roll, and the plaid liner will be exposed.

7. Thread the waste end in and back out of the two slots on the back reel. There is a small amount of adhesive on the end, adhere this to the back reel.

8. Replace the black stop onto the back reel section and twist it in the direction of the arrows on the black stop.

9.Close the lid.

10. To begin using your ATG Gun, squeeze the trigger while dragging the front roller across the are you want to apply adhesive. Release the trigger just before you stop rolling and lift off of your project. The ATG will apply a very strong double stick adhesive while winding the liner back into the gun.

Have fun with your ATG - after just a few times loading it, it becomes a breeze : )
